A small island barangay where the days move slowly, the water stays clear, and everyone knows your name.
Mongpong is a barangay in the municipality of Santa Cruz, Marinduque. Our island sits in the Sibuyan Sea, just a short boat ride from the main island of Marinduque.
Life here is simple. Fishermen head out at dawn, children play along the shore, and neighbors gather under the trees to share stories. The famous Ungab Rock Formation—what visitors call the "kissing stones"—has been our playground since childhood.
Our barangay has a population of 1,362 residents (as of 2020), living across 3.81 square kilometers of land surrounded by 7.8 kilometers of coastline.
Mongpong Island is located at approximately 13.5189°N, 122.1701°E in the Sibuyan Sea
